Two senior management staff of the Sierra Leone Football Association- Director of Competitions Sorie Ibrahim Sesay and Head of Women’s Football, Mirian Heroe have yesterday successfully completed a two-day seminar for CAF General Coordinators in Monrovia, Liberia under the auspices of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone-A.
The Zonal Executive Director, Gaye Mapathe, disclosed during the opening ceremony that the seminar is in fulfillment of the Union’s vision to capacitate personnel that will be charged with various responsibilities in the management of competitions within Zone A.
The Director of Competition Sorie Ibrahim Sesay who was one of the participants in the seminar expressed delight in being able to attend another capacity-building seminar.
Expressing his excitement on social media, Sesay noted: “Today marks another milestone in my career as a football administrator having received a Certificate of Participation in a CAF General Coordinators seminar organized by WAFU Zone-A in Monrovia, Liberia”.
“The two-day event hosted at Hotel Boulevard in Monrovia attracted participants from all nine Member Associations of WAFU Zone-A ith Rwanda-born Madam Mukandanga Kelly as Instructor”.
“Thanks to the President of SLFA, Thomas Daddy Brima, and his Executive Committee that makes it possible to realize this dream”, Sesay said.
CAF General Coordinator and facilitator, Madam Mukandanga Kelly, expressed delight in the level of commitment and efforts shown by participants during the two-day seminar. She added that “I am of the firm conviction that this set of trainees will break through to the highest level of CAF as General Coordinators in the near future”.
The participants, who were evenly selected from the nine nations in the zone, were drilled on a number of strategic tournament management areas, including organization, competition management, responses to emergency situations, and stadium inspections.
The training was climaxed by the distribution of certificates to all participants.
