SKD Stadium to host Leone Stars Vs Super Eagles AFCON clash

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has approved the Paynesville-Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, Liberia as the host venue for Sierra Leone’s upcoming TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 Qualifying match against Nigeria.

According to the FA match-day 5 is a crucial tie for both nations, and it has been scheduled to play on Saturday, June 18th this year.

Sierra Leone lost the first leg by 2-1 in Abuja and sits in 3rd position in Group A with five (5) points, having recorded two draws and a win with 4 matches played.

Meanwhile, as part of the preparation, John Keister has assembled a strong contingent of a home-based side that is embarking on training to get them ready for the encounter against the Super Eagles.

Despite a bulky of the squad will be coming from their various clubs abroad to join the squad, Keister has prioritized giving the locally based players an opportunity to represent their country.

Sierra Leoneans are expecting nothing but a win to earn the country another chance to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.
