Mjøndalen IF is thrilled to finally reveal the highly anticipated jersey number that will be worn by their newest team member, Alie Conteh.

Mjøndalen IF has announced that Alie Nzonzi Conteh, a forward from Sierra Leone, has joined the club and will wear the number 20 jersey for the 2024 season.
Conteh previously played for East End Lions, FC Kallon in The Sierra Leone top-tier league, and Goodrich FC, his boyhood club.
Mjøndalen IF is a Norwegian football club based in Mjøndalen, Buskerud. Founded in 1910, it is known locally as Mjøndalen IF or Mjøndar’n.
The team plays its home matches in the Consto Arena, which has a capacity of 4,350 spectators. Mjøndalen competes in Obos Ligaen, the second tier in the Norwegian football league system, having been relegated from the Eliteserien at the end of the 2021 season.
According to the club’s website, Conteh has been granted work and residence permits. He has already trained with the club’s technical staff and is getting along with his teammates.
Although he has been in the spotlight of several European clubs, he has chosen to join Mjøndalen. However, it took some time to obtain the necessary work and residence permits.
Sports manager BP commented, “It has been a long process, but now it has been resolved. But he will naturally need some time before we can expect good interaction and understanding of how we play.”
Conteh is a centre-forward but can also play both wing roles. Head coach Kevin Nicol is thrilled to have him on the squad. “Alie was on trial with us this summer and immediately impressed, including by scoring two goals in an internal game.
He has a lot of pace and loves to run between the centre-backs. At the same time, he is a good header who can score a lot on cross balls from the edges. He works extremely hard in training, and this is a player we have high hopes for.”
Conteh will seek to make an immediate impact and help Mjøndalen achieve its objectives for the upcoming season. The team’s fans will undoubtedly be excited to see what he brings to the table and how he can contribute to their success.
