Kroo Town Road Community emerged as champions of the 2023/2024 Central One Football Association (COFA) Inter-Area League after winning 11-10 on penalties against Central Community at the Parade playing ground on Saturday.

After a dominant performance between the two finalists, the game ended in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes of sweat and hard work on the pitch, leading to a decisive penalty shoot-out.

This is Kroo Town Road’s second consecutive championship victory, following their win in the Inter-Area League during the 2022/2023 season.

KTR Head Coach Musa Jalloh

They defeated Fourah Bay Community 1-0 to set up a match with Central, who outshone Kissy Community with a stunning win to reach the grand finals.

According to Kroo Town Road’s head coach, Musa Jalloh, the reason behind the victory was the fans who supported the team with their time, energy, and financial resources to ensure they lifted the trophy.

Jalloh believes that commitment is paramount in football and only signs players he can control. Stressing that discipline was the secret to their success this season. Jalloh also explained that although they failed to score in the match, his players stuck to their game plan.

“Central is a good team with attacking power and a solid defensive system, making it difficult for us to make a breakthrough in their defensive area. Hence, the reason we couldn’t score a goal in the match.

However, he praised his team for their good defensive play, which helped them keep a clean sheet.
