Mighty Blackpool beat Freetown City FC 1-0 to reduce point gap on Bo Rangers

Mighty Blackpool FC has reduced the point gap in the race for the Sierra Leone Premier League title after defeating Freetown City FC 1-0 at the Parade playing field on Sunday.

Skipper Ron Gandi William’s second-half goal was enough to earn Blackpool the win as they narrow down to three points behind the league leader’s Bo Rangers FC.  It was Williams’s fourth goal of the season for the club.

The win increased their points on the table to 28 from 13 matches with 8 wins, 4 draws and one defeat. Blackpool has been consistent in maintaining their second position, while keeping the pressure on Bo Rangers for the title race.

It was a disappointing result for Freetown City FC as Blackpool end their 3 games winning streak.

Elsewhere in Freetown, Old Edwardians held FC Kallon to a 1-1 draw at the Angola Town field and East End Tigers secured their first back-to-back win in the league following their 1-0 victory over Luawa FC.

In the eastern region derby, visitors Diamond Stars FC settled for a goalless draw with host, Kamboi Eagles FC at the Kenema Town field.
