Jonathan Morsey joins AEL Limassol on a two-year contract

Sierra Leone left winger, Jonathan Morsey has completed his move to AEL Limassol on a two-year contract after his departure from Panaitolikos.

The 25-year-old was in Cyprus in the past few days and after passing his medical, he signed a contract with the club for the next two years.

In a statement released by the club, they announced that the deal has officially been completed and Morsey is a new addition to the squad.

 “We have reached an agreement in principle with Sierra Leone international, Jonathan Morsay for the next two years. We welcome Jonathan Morsay to the AEL family and wish him every success.”

Morsey, born in Sweden to a Sierra Leonean father and a Swedish mother, is an attacking midfielder who plays as a left winger.  

In the last two years, he played in 25 league games with Panaitolikos in the Greek Super League, registering 3 goals and 2 assists.

He also played for Dynamo Bucuresti, Chiev, and GIF Sundsvall Brage.

Morsey made his debut for Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars in a 3-0 loss to Togo on March 24, 2022. Since then he has been getting a regular call-up from Coach John Keister.
