The Sierra Leone National U-20 men’s team, Shooting Stars, secured a goalless draw against Liberia U20’s side, Lone Stars, at the Samual K. Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia on Sunday.

Although the attacking force of Shooting Stars missed out on several opportunities to put the ball into the net, Bhantal’s Mohamed Bangaru and FCFC Abdul K Turay made several attempts.

However, the Liberian U-20 counterpart manifested a solid defensive performance, making it a challenge for Shooting Stars.

Despite this, the team displayed great determination and excellent passing skills throughout the 90 minutes.

Capitano Alpha Kabia showed a masterpiece display in the middle of the pack as he performed his midfield role with class and finesse.

Shooting Stars head coach, Mohamed Lamin Kamara, expressed optimism that the team will capitalise on scoring opportunities in their remaining matches and are set to work on goal-scoring chances and set pieces during the next training.

At the end of the match, Mohammed Fofanah, fondly called “Fastest” of Diamond Stars, won the man-match award for his outstanding and dazzling performance throughout the game.
