Kakay reaches 100 Queens Park Rangers appearance

Kakay's 100th appearance for QPR is a significant milestone in his career

Sierra Leone skipper Osman Kakay makes his 100th Queens Park Rangers appearance in a 4-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Championship on October 7th, 2023.

Kakay signed his first professional contract with the club in 2015, and on 29 January 2016, he signed a new one-year deal to keep him at QPR until 2017.

He made his first QPR appearance starting out of position in the right of midfield in an EFL Cup second-round victory over Rochdale, before being substituted after 73 minutes to an ovation from the Queens Park Rangers support.

Kakay was offered a contract extension in November 2018, extending his deal at Loftus Road to 2021.

He scored his first professional goal in an EFL Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle on September 5th, 2020. And on May 1st, 2021, Kakay scored his first Championship goal in a 2-0 win away to Stoke City.

Kakay, who also plays right-back for Sierra Leone, joined QPR’s academy at the age of eight and he has made significant progress in his career. The defender has scored two goals and provided three assists for the club.

The 26-year-old has also been capped eighteen times for the Sierra Leone national team, making his debut in 2018. He was appointed Acting Captain of the Leone Stars in 2023.

Kakay’s 100th appearance for QPR is an evidence of hard work and commitment over the years while playing for the club. This season, he has made 12th appearance for QPR under manager Gareth Ainsworth.

Despite enjoying loan spells at Livingston, Chesterfield and Patrick Thistle, Kakay as a phenomenal player, has always fight hard to keep his place in the QPR squad.
