AEK Athens set sight on signing Steven Caulker

Greek club AEK Athens have showed interest in signing defender Steven Caulker from Fenerbahce this summer

AEK Athens are looking into the possibility of signing Fenerbahce defender Steven Caulker according to reports from Turkey.

The 30-year-old had popped up on the radar of the Greek Super League giants, Athens, and Turkish Super Lig side, Yukatel Kayserispor who are also interested to make a move for the experienced defender.

The English-born Sierra Leonean defender spent last season on loan in Gaziantep FK.

Despite his strong performance last season, manager Jorge Jesus doesn’t appear to believe in caulker’s abilities.

The center-back is currently in a pre-season training with his parent club Fenerbahce as he looks to fight for regular playing time ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Caulker was featured in Fenerbahce third pre-season friendly match as they defeated Al-Shamel 4-2.

The Leone Stars skipper has a contract with the Yellow Canaries until 30th June 2023.
