Who is Augustine Loof?

The former Dutch international has been included in Amidu Karim's squad for Benin and Somalia friendlies

Augustine Loof, born on 1st January 1996 in Koewacht, Netherlands, is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays for Balzan FC as a center-back.  

The 27-year-old made his professional debut as a Jong PSV player in the Jupiler League in 2014 against Roda JC Kerkrade in a 1-1 draw.

Loof started his youth career with PSV Eindhoven before he moved to Jong PSV where he played from 2014-2016 with 48 appearances, FC Eindhoven from 2016-2019 with 67 appearances and he currently playing for Balzan, a team in the Maltese Premier League. 

The center-back also has three caps with the Netherlands U17 team in 2013.

Loof is one of the players named in Amidu Karim’s squad for the Benin and Somalia friendly matches slated for 14th and 17th October 2023 in Morocco.

Though his relationship with Sierra Leone hasn’t been clearly specified, the new head coach for Leone Stars included him in his squad as one of the players he wants to give the opportunity to wear the country’s colors.
