WAFU U20: Sierra Leone bow out respectfully with 4-1 win over Guinea Bissau

Sierra Leone national men’s U20 football team, Shooting Stars, beat Guinea Bissau 4-1 in their final group match at the 2022 WAFU Zone A U20 tournament ongoing in Mauritania on Monday evening.

Mohamed Fofana, Mamadu Lamin and Momoh I Kamara were all on the scoresheet for Sierra Leone as they record their first win, but crashed out of the competition.

Diamond Stars wonder kid, Momoh I Kamara who scored twice in the game, was awarded Man of the Match following his outstanding performance that motivated the team to victory.

Shortly after the match, the FA released a statement, applauding the lads for their brilliants performance that earn them the victory which restored respect in the squad despite being eliminated from the tournament after losing their first two matches against Mali and the host nation, Mauritania.   

“Today, the lads restored honor to Sierra Leone by defeating Guinea Bissau by a whopping 1-4 and grabbing the MOTM Award in the person of Momoh Kamara despite failing to progress to the next stage of the tournament”.

“Shooting Stars looked excellent in every department on the pitch today and seemed to have perfectly corrected their mistakes made in the first two matches”, the FA posted on social media .
