Sierra Leone to face Zambia in CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nation's qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the draw procedure of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco qualifiers.

The draw was conduct on Thursday, August 18, 2022 in Cairo, Egypt and Sierra Leone will start their journey in the second round of the qualifiers against Zambia.

In the first round, the 20 least ranked teams will play the first round in a 2 leg tie knock out basis (home and away). 10 teams will then proceed to the second round.

The 10 teams qualified from the first round with the 18 exempted from the first round will play in the second round 2 leg tie (home and away).

The 14 teams qualified from the second round will play in the third round with 7 teams plus the host nation, Morocco to qualify for the tournament

The first round of first and second leg matches of the qualifiers will be playing from 19-27 September 2022 and the second round is scheduled for October 21-23 for the first legs and October 28-30 for the second legs.

Both the first and second leg matches of round three will be playing between March 20 and March 28, 2023.

The U23 Africa Cup of Nations will serve as the qualification process for the Men’s Football tournament in the 2024 Olympics Games.
