Prince Barrie replaces Alhassan Koroma in Leone Stars squad

East End Lions winger, Prince Barrie has been called up to join the Sierra Leone national senior men’s football team,  Leone Stars, ahead of the two international friendlies against South Africa and DR Congo slated for this month.

Barrie was included in the squad after Real Balompedica midfielder, Alhassan Koroma declined the invitation due to some personal issues with his travel documentation.

“The technical team of Leone Stars has included East End Lions’ winger Prince Barrie in the squad for Sierra Leone’s upcoming FIFA sanctioned friendlies”.

“The said inclusion is in replacement of Spanish based midfielder Alhassan Koroma who cannot make the trip due to issues bothering around traveling documentation”, The FA announced via their social platforms on Tuesday.

USA based Indy Eleven FC forward, Rodney Michael Jr and Troyes B 18-year-old right winger, Moses Turay are the two new names added to John Keister’s list of players, while Idriss Kanu, Ishmail Jaw-Jaw Koroma and Augustine Williams are returning to the squad for the friendly matches.

The friendlies will serve as a strategy to assess the players as the team prepares for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
