TK Born And Raised Academy have on Saturday, 27th August 2022 at the Wusum field in Makeni donated footballs benefited by the Bombali District Football Association (BDFA), female football clubs, and Under-14 and Under-15 teams affiliated with BDFA.
Speaking during the event as the Academy Lead of TKBAR in Sierra Leone Lovel Fornah stated that, this is a demonstration of our Founder Tom Nyama’s commitment to giving back to Makeni where he attended schooling and played football.
Adding, the Academy is not only creating opportunities for the grassroots players to accomplish their dreams of becoming professional footballers but as well providing educational support “We are keen on the fact that there is life after football and even for them to achieve their biggest aims of playing professional football they need education, therefore, we remain committed to delivering our way to help build a better society” he maintained.
Secretary General of the North East Region Football Association Abdul Rahman Kamara was among the key dignitaries that graced the occasion and applauded TKBAR Academy for the philanthropy gesture “We have people in the society that are with mighty wealth but can not embark on any gesture like this, moreover it is also the second time I am witnessing this such occasion, on behalf of the regional football body I hereby tendering my profound gratitude to Born And Raised Academy” he avowed.
Head Coach of the Binkolo Black Stars a team based on the outskirts of Makeni City Benjamin Bornoh Sesay asserted that the donation is timely noting “Key among the challenges I am facing to continue our workouts regularly is lack of footballs and the football we have benefited from the donation today is a huge boost for the team especially when we are preparing for both mini-leagues and competitions organized by the BDFA” he gratified.
