Sierra Leone forward, Musa Noah Kamara fondly called Tombo has assured Sierra Leoneans of putting in 100 percent effort in ensuring they grab all six points from Sao Tome and Principe in their two-legged AFCON23 qualifier encounters.
The Leone Stars will be hosting the Falcons and True Patriots in the first tie on Wednesday 22nd March at Stadium Grand Sade d’ Agadir, Morocco.
While the return leg is set to play on Sunday at the same venue with Sao Tome hosting Sierra Leone.
Tombo who is making his return to the squad after his suspension last year told journalists in Agadir that the team is very prepared for the task ahead and they are going all out to win both matches.
“I am ready, my colleagues are also ready to take all six points in Morocco to take us closer to qualification by God’s grace. We are here to make Sierra Leone proud”, he says.
The Bo Rangers striker adds: “I call on Sierra Leoneans to pray for us and have faith in us that we are going to qualify the country. I want to assure my people that we will make them smile.
Sierra Leone is looking forward to reviving its AFCON qualification hopes with a huge win against the Falcons and True Patriots who have lost two matches in Group A.
Sao Tome suffered heavy defeats in their first two opening matches in the group with a 5-1 loss to Guinea-Bissau, before they got slaughtered by Nigeria 10-0.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone is currently sitting in third place in Group A with just one point after their away loss to group leaders Nigeria and a 2-2 draw at home to second-placed Guinea-Bissau last year.
In their head-to-head statistics, Sierra Leone and Sao Tome have met in four previous matches, dating back as far as 2000. The Falcons and True Parrots Team have claimed two wins compared to one for the Leone Stars, while one game has been drawn.
The last time both teams met in an AFCON qualifier, they settled for a goalless draw in Freetown, June 2012.
