Kei Kamara’s brace helped CF Montreal bag a spot in MLS Cup Playoff

Kei Kamara netted twice and added an assist for CF Montreal in a vital 3-2 home victory over the Chicago Fire on Tuesday.

The win has cemented their position on the table as they are currently second place with 56 points in the Eastern Conference MLS. And they’ve grabbed a spot to play in the MLS Cup playoffs.

Kamara put Montreal ahead in the 21’ minute,  and in the 29’ minute, he struck from the edge of the box with a pass from Kone giving Montreal an early advantage in the match.

Shaqiri converted twice from the penalty spot in the 39’ and 57′ munities to keep Chicago’s hope alive, but that wasn’t enough as Kamara earlier on set up Brault-Guillard with a brilliant pass which resulted to the goal they scored in the 44’ minute.

Kamara who has been so influential in the Montreal squad, has a total of 8 goals and 7 assists for the club this season.

The veteran striker has proven to be a pure class with his goal scoring form, helping Montreal to secure a place in the playoffs and also becoming a tough title contenders.

Montreal are now unbeaten in their last three games, including a draw against the Columbus Crew SC and a win against Canadian Classique rivals, Toronto FC
