Mohamed Buya Turay delighted to score his first goal for Malmo FF

Sierra Leone forward, Mohamed Buya Turay scored his first goal for Malmo FF in their 2-2 draw with F91 Dudelange in the second leg tie of the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday night at Stade Luxembourg in the city of Luxembourg.

After a sloppy first half with lots of chances waisted, Buya pull through with a brilliant goal to put the visiting side ahead in the 50’ minutes. That was is first goal in three appearances since he join the club in July.

Toivonen increase the lead for Malmo in the 52′ minutes, but the home side leveled the scores with goals from Hadji in the 56′ minutes and Sinani in the 60′ minutes.

Despite the draw, Malmo FF progressed to the Europa League playoff, following their 5-2 win on aggregate.

Buya asserted that he was delighted to be on the score sheet for the club on a big night that all the fans were behind them to seal their qualification to the playoff stage of the Europa League following their 3-0 victory at home last week.

“It feels good to score my first goal for this club. For me, this is what I want to always do, when I move to a club. And this is what people know me for. Scoring goals is m y identity”.

“I hope to score more goals in the future for Malmo. And I am looking forward to get more goals”. Buya said in an interview after the match.   

Malmo FF manager, Andreas Georgson was critical of the effort displayed by his players after the match. But he was pleased to see his side hang on to ensure they get the draw and return to Sweden as the team that qualifies to the Europa League playoffs.

“In the first half it feels like we want the game to just end. That is not the way to play soccer,” Andreas Georgson said.
