“I am excited to get started”…Steven Caulker after joining Wigan on a free transfer

Sierra Leone center back, Steven Caulker has said that he is excited to get started in his new club following his move to Wigan Athletics on a free transfer.

The English championship side, Wigan Athletic confirmed the signing of Caulker on their twitter account on Monday after the defender penned a contract that will last till the end of the 2022/23 season.

“We are delighted to confirm the signing of Steven Caulker on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 campaign. Welcome to the Tics, Steven Caulker”, the club announced.

The Sierra Leone international Caulker 31, joined ‘The Latics’ as a free agent few weeks since the player mutually parted ways with Turkish Superlig side Fatih Karagümrük after a four months spell with the Turkish club.

The Sierra Leone skipper moved to Wigan on a free transfer said the challenge, at this time of his career, is the right step for him.

“It’s a pleasure to be here,” I have had such a warm welcome today, and I’m excited to get started”.

“I feel this challenge at this time in my career is the right step for me. I’m excited to be back home and to be in the Championship again”.

“There are lots of things I want to prove and I’m looking forward to getting started”, Steven Caulker after signing for Wigan Athletics.

Caulker will put on the No.29 shirt for the Championship Club.
