Sesay signs professional contract with Sheffield Wednesday

Sierra Leone wonder kid, Fuad Sesay has signed his first professional contract with English League One side, Sheffield Wednesday.

Sesay signed his first professional contract at the club after graduating from the academy squad. He will now spend the 2022/23 season in the Owls’ Under-23 squad under the watchful eye of coach Neil Thompson.

The 18-year-old, joined Sheffield Wednesday from Southampton two years ago to begin his scholarship in South Yorkshire. He was born in London and has Sierra Leonean nationality.

Sesay deal was a reward for the hard work he put up during the course of his two-year scholarships at the club, impressing the coaching staff, at every given opportunity.

After signing the deal, the left-back expressed his excitement for the major breakthrough on his Instagram handle.

“Delighted to sign my first professional contract with the club. Some hard fought moments, the hard work continues”. 

Sesay will be hoping for plenty more minutes in 2022/23, with the left back eager to continue his progression under the coaching staff headed by manager Neil Thompson.
