East End Tigers, FC Kallon earns vital wins, Freetonians SLIFA held by Central Parade

Goals from Daniel Karim and Hassan M. Kamara helped FC Kallon cruise to a convincing 2-0 home win over Kamboi Eagles FC from Kenema at the Angola town playing field in Freetown.

Kamara set up Karim for the first goal, putting the Cavaliers ahead 17’ minutes into the first half as he easily poked the ball into the center of the net.  

The outstanding Kamara not only provides an assist, but he also slotted home the winner to cement the 2-0 win for his side with a touch of brilliant football in front of their home fans.

It was no mistake that he grabs the Man of the Match Award as he was very influential in ensuring FC Kallon secured the 3 points over the visiting side following his remarkable assist to Karim and the goal scored.

Despite the pressure from the FC Kallon attack, Kamboi Eagles FC refused to surrender as they created some possible chances which they failed to put into the back of the net.

The Cavaliers were looking dangerous on the offensive with mammoth pressure from their striking forwards and beautiful passes from their midfielders who created clear chances that could have earned them more goals.

At the Trade Centre playing field, East End Tigers FC had a vital 2-1 home win against Diamond Stars FC of Kono on Sunday afternoon in a nail-biting encounter in the eastern part of Freetown.

Ibrahim Keita and Kai George provided a goal each to grab the win for the Tigers over the Diamond Boys who are in 16th place on the league table with 10 points from 12 matches played.

East End Tigers have been battling to move away from the relegation zone, but it has been a very tough first round, after a terrible start to the season with only two wins, 4 draws, and 6 defeats.

Diamond Stars Ibrahim Wotay registered his name on the score sheet, but it wasn’t enough to get a point from the match as the results ends 2-1 favor of the home side. The defeat saw the Diamond Boys drop down to 4th position on the table with 19 points from 12 matches.

In Freetown Central, host, Freetonians SLIFA settled for a goalless draw against Central Parade FC at the Parade playing ground with either side wasting good chances from a close range and the match ends 0-0 at full-time.

SLIFA had the best chances to score, but they were unable to break the deadlock as their forwards failed to find a way to pass through the tight defence of Central Parade FC.

Abu Dumbuya of Freetonians SLIFA was named Man of the Match after dominating the midfield.
