Bo Rangers coagulates title defends challenge after beating FC Kallon at home

Bo Rangers FC has solidified its aims of defending the Sierra Leone Premier League following its narrow 2-1 home win over FC Kallon at the Bo Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Elephants defeated the Cavaliers to extend their unbeaten streak in front of a mammoth crowd that cheered the team throughout the match at the arena.

Abu Komeh put the league leaders ahead from the penalty spot in the 22’ minute into the first half, totaling his goals tally to 11 on the chart. Alie Inzonzi Conteh levels the scores 1-1 for the visitors with a fanfare tap-in before the break.

Both teams return to the match looking very confident with an equal opportunity to win after the recess. But it only took Musa Noah Kamara (Tombo) 2 minutes into the second half to slot home the winner for Bo Rangers.

Kamara finds the net in the 47 minutes of action to cement the win and grabbed the three points for the Elephants who moved thirteen points off second place East End Lions FC.

It was a significant win for the southern region-based club as they’ve demonstrated to be the best team with an extraordinary record in the league, winning sixteen and drawing seven from twenty-three matches played.

A delightful Musa Tombo expressed his excitement for being able to score the match-winning goal for his side. “I am happy for the win. It was an important result for us. The match was a bit hard because FC Kallon also play to win, but we know what we want and we play our normal game to get the result we required at home”.

“We thank our fans for the massive support and we will ensure we continue to give them positive results until we lift the trophy again as champions”, Musa Tombo said.

However, prior to the match, FC Kallon fans announced that they will boycott the match. Despite their absence, the stadium was filled to capacity and it was an added advantage for the home side.

Bo Rangers will be traveling to Freetown to face Real Republicans on Wednesday 10th May 2023, and Fc Kallon who are now sitting in 4th place on the league table will be entertaining Lamboi FC at home on Thursday 11th May 2023 at the Angola Town field.
