Bo Rangers beat struggling Wusum Stars 2-0 in Premier League clash

Bo Rangers FC grabbed a vital 3 points away from home following their 2-0 win over bottom side, Wusum Stars FC at the Wusum Field in Makeni town on Friday afternoon.

Joseph Cole’s first half goal breaks the deadlock to put the visitors ahead. It was his first goal for the Elephant’s since he joined the club from Sea Side Rangers FC.

In-form forward, Abu Komeh slotted home the winner mid-way in the second half to seal the victory for the league leaders who are topping the table with 30 points from 12 matches.

Komeh who is the current top goal scorer of the league has increased his goals tally to 6 in the chart. He has been consistent in scoring vital goals to ensure Bo Rangers maintained their winning streak as he is averaging a goal in every two matches.

“We only have one mission to complete. That is, to win the league with a very huge margin. We also want to finish the first round without losing any game”.

“We are aware that we’ve become the team to beat, and sometimes we faced teams that go all out to frustrate us, but it is because of our determination we are overcoming those challenges. Our focus is to win and gain points from every game”, Bo Rangers captain, Saidu Bah Kamara affirmed.

Wusum Stars who are sitting bottom of the table with 6 points from 12 matches, are struggling to survive in the league after dropping points in matches played at home and away since the start of the league.

The Northern Rock, have been static on 18th place in the relegation zone after suffering 8 defeats with only one win and three draws in the league.

The goalkeeper of Wusum Stars, Peter Favor Sesay who doubles as the skipper, told Mags Tribune Sports that it’s been a very difficult season for the team as they lack the ability to score goals. “The team doesn’t have a proper striker and it has affected us a lot”, he said.

“Our major problem is the none-availability of a top striker to do the finishing for us. We are playing good football, we possessed the ball well with some killer passes, but we don’t have the striker up front to do a clinical finish that will earn us goals.

“As a team, we are looking forward to the management of the club to help us get a striker in the second round so we will be able to move from our current position and avoid relegation”, the Wusum Stars skipper said.

Goalkeeper, Ibrahim Sesay of Bo Rangers FC was awarded Man of the Match after making some crucial saves to keep a clean sheet and helped the Elephant’s walked away from the city of Makeni with all 3 points.

The unstoppable Bo Rangers are now 8 points clear off second place Mighty Blackpool FC on the league table. They will be hosting Freetonian SLIFA on Saturday 18th February 2023, in their next match in Bo.

Elsewhere in Freetown, Port Authority FC had a 2-0 away win over Freetown City FC.  Man of the Match, Abu B Kamara and Derosimi Ibrahim provided a goal each to secure the victory for the Water-Front Boys who are 5th place on the table with 18 points from 12 matches.
