Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau settles for a 2-2 draw in their group A TotalEnergies AFCON 2023 qualifier match at the Stade General Lanasana Conteh Stadium in Conakry on Monday. 

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone raided the defencive area of Guinea Bissau in the first 15 minutes but didn’t utilised any of their chances as the strikers fails to hit the net on target. 

Guinea Bissau’s Jorge Fernando Barbosa netted 2 goals in the 47 and 52nd minutes, giving the Djurtus an edge to win the match. That was shortly celebrated as defender Zidane was sent off for a dangerous foul on Sierra Leone’s Bolton Wanderers striker, Amadu Bakayoko.

The red card was a gift to Sierra Leone as they responded positively, but they missed a golden opportunity from the penalty spot which was miss directed by Musa Noah Kamara in the 72nd minutes. 

Coach Keister’s men keep pressuring the Djurtus and Agustus Kargbo scored in the 77th munites to keep Sierra Leone’s hope alive. 

Musa Noah Kamara who missed the penalty, slotted home the late equalizer in the 88th minues to earn the home side a point.
